Constance Mulford is a Grammy Award winning freelance Horn player who is based in New York. She has performed with The New Jersey Symphony, The Dominican Republic National Symphony, The New Jersey Festival Orchestra, Princeton Symphony Orchestra, School of American Ballet, Jeezy and The Color of Noize Orchestra, Parlando Chamber Orchestra, and other orchestras and chamber groups. Constance was a member of the Chamber Music America’s Ensemble Forward Grant winning ensemble Uptown Winds.

Constance has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage and at Staller Center in Stony Brook, NY. She has also played at Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has extensive tour experience in Spain and China. In addition to live performances, she can also be heard on studio made recordings such as the 2023 Grammy Award winning Album for Best Orchestral Performance. Constance loves to collaborate with living composers to depart from the traditional repertoire of the horn and build new music that embodies the true beauty of her instrument.

Constance currently holds Teaching Artist positions at the Harmony Program and Midori and Friends. She is also the Brass Instructor at the Stony Brook School and a Substitute Music Teacher at the Three Village Central School District.

Constance completed her undergraduate degree with Michelle Baker at Manhattan School of Music and continued her graduate studies with Javier Gandara in MSM’s Orchestral Performance program.

Constance has overcome multiple performance injuries throughout her career due to overuse. Her personal experience and knowledge of musculoskeletal systems provides her students and clients a unique insight for injury prevention and recovery. She has consulted with young players who have overcome their own injuries with her support and recovery plans.
